The Job’s mission
As a team member of the IMD World Competitiveness Center (http://www.imd.org/wcc/),
the Research Specialist helps in the various phases of the production of the different
products, activities and related projects (IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, IMD World
Competitiveness Online, special projects and publications, competitiveness programs) in
coordination with the Team members.
Key activities & accountabilities
Data collection and registration for IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook, as well as
answering standard queries and questions from users and providing data updates.
Perform statistical and econometric analysis.
Liaise with IMD World Competitiveness Center’s network of external data providers.
Provide support in different competitiveness publications and programs.
Help the IMD World Competitiveness Center’s team members in various phases of

Bachelor or Master’s (Economics or Statistics preferred), or equivalent
Background in economics, statistics and econometrics
Strong research and analytical skills (data gathering, statistical analysis)
At least 2 years of experience working in an international business environment and
working with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds
Solid knowledge of Excel (data crunching, formatting and data sorting)
Computer literate (Word, PowerPoint, InDesign), specific online databases, customized
research on the internet
Proficiency with statistical packages (SPSS, Matlab, Stata, etc.)
Ability to prioritize tasks and to work on different projects simultaneously
High sense of personal responsibility and precision
Strong team spirit and very collaborative
Flexible during peak periods in order to respect deadlines of publication
