IT Functional Expert - Finance & Controlling

Job Description

A number of Constellium IT systems do not cover any more business requirements and some of them represent a risk for the business in terms of obsolescence, expiring maintenance, and overall complexity to maintain and support.

Constellium has currently setup a 5 year plan to rollout an information system state-of-the-art (GOAL) and aligned with current business requirements.

An Enterprise Application CoE has been setup, and the existing project and support teams are being re-organised to be part of it.

Scope of the CoE is :

  • the Functional Relationship team, charged to be the face of the SAP COE to the Business for each of the key functional domain
  • the Solution Delivery team, charged to design and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions to the business in accordance with their needs the Service Operations team, to ensure the ongoing support and management of the current environments

The functional domain expert is be the face of the SAP COE to the Business for each of the key functional domain.

Expert on business processes and their implementation in SAP ERP, he will ensure continuous alignment between business requirement and IT solution and support efficient use of SAP ERP.

This function will liaise closely with :

  • Business relationship managers to enable smooth transition from business needs to solution delivery
  • projects managers for project delivery,
  • service operations team to ensure proper transition from project mode to ongoing maintenance.

The role will be based in Zurich and travel to all sites (Switzerland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, US) will be required.



Primary Activities

  • Act as a functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the configuration of the template for a given business process area. Has deep functional and application knowledge as well as good business process or industry knowledge to design and lead the build and test of an SAP solution for their particular functional domain
  • In charge of the solution delivery (prototype, projects rollout and large change request development) for their particular functional domain
  • Perform or assist with design and development of the SAP solution across the full development lifecycle within his or her functional area of expertise including:
    • requirements capture and management,
    • fit/gap analysis, solution design and functional specifications writing,
    • software configuration,
    • master data design,
    • functional testing, cut-over, through to stabilizing the post go-live environment,
    • contribution in change management activities including training
  • Involved in longer term application management and maintenance, if required. In particular provide next level application support and maintenance (level 3) in assistance to Application Support and Maintenance team
  • Perform quality assurance and control activities. Ensure quality of the system: development rules, technical aspects, naming conventions, etc.
  • Management coordination with this third parties and subcontractor on his functional domain. 

Candidate Profile


  • 6-7 years experience in an international IT-FI/CO environment, within the manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Broad and in-depth experience of SAP, both from a technical and functional perspective and focus on rollout projects
  • Experience focus on CO (e.g. product costing, variance analysis etc.), solid experience in FI, PS or BI knowledge an asset
  • In-depth experience in setting up and rolling out a Sap Core Model in an international and complex environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to business users from end user to process champion
  • Open minded and flexible personality with experience in working on a matrix environment
  • Autonomous  and provide clear and frequent feedback to his management and to involved CoE functions, incl. external providers
  • Fluency in English is a must, French and/or German an great asset
  • Frequent travel worldwide (50-80%)
