About This Job:

  • To lead projects that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Syngenta’s branding approach
  • To provide specialist expertise and support to commercial teams in branding and communications
  • To lead development of global brand launches and brand strategies


  • Lead key strategic branding initiatives
  • Establish a project agenda, with clear deliverables, timelines and measures to deliver and implement the appropriate strategy
  • Through engaging with the territories, crops and branding/MR network develop understanding of situation today and opportunities by applying relevant analysis
  • Work with the global/territory marketing teams to develop a new, more effective approach to branding/MR with clear measures and ROI
  • Act as a catalyst to share and apply best practice between countries and businesses; seek & recommend new Syngenta approach
  • Gain approval for necessary investments from governance body
  • Train users on effective branding strategy
  • Lead and facilitate brand modeling and message map workshops
  • Own relationships with 3rd parties (i.e. agencies) for development of branding collateral
  • Introduce new practices in branding to ensure best-in-practice, customer-focused delivery
  • Coordinate with Customer Insight team to ensure proper alignment with branding initiatives



Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Hands-on business experience in product branding at senior/executive level
  • Minimum 7 years’ agency or brand and market research experience (brand strategy, positioning, etc.)
  • Extensive understanding of branding and customer insight practices and methodologies in B2B
  • Ability to manage and lead complex projects simultaneously across functions, countries, and business
  • Extensive international marketing communications experience
  • Sound experience and understanding of cultural customs, legal, media and organizational practices globally
  • Change management experience
  • Experience in FMCG/service industry or consultancy, with aligned sales management experience (5+ years) would be an advantage

Qualifications and skills:

  • MBA from a leading international business program, or similar education, agronomics or science degree a plus
  • Fluent in at least 2 languages, including English
  • Strong networking skills combined with a passion for topic and the credibility to challenge the status quo and drive change
  • Proactive self-starter with potential to engage and lead a small team
  • Impactful communicator with customer-focused approach
