About This Job:

Lead and drive the design, build and implementation of Pricing Platform and best practices in geographies around the world for defined scope (Commercial Terms & Price Execution). Lead and support the successful deployment of Pricing Global design leveraging on pricing systems where applicable locally – with close cooperation with local and regional teams.


Design: Lead the design for respective scope, leveraging available tools to support the global process by working with global and local Syngenta resources and leading external consultants:

  • Develop thorough core global design of pricing process and tools taking into account local specifics where needed
  • Be responsible for the design of Pricing functionalities and validation with relevant stakeholders and decision bodies
  • Work in close collaboration with local and regional price managers, Asset/Portfolio managers and sales teams to review and validate global design
  • Manage and validate development of user stories and BRS documents translating business requirements to technical specifications to build respective modules/ elements of pricing platform
  • Play expert role in UAT testing periods: manage priorities of issue resolution, support testing and issue corrections with system providers, validation of go/no go recommendation submitted to relevant decision bodies
  • Run workshops, e.g. demo, calibration and design review sessions with Global and Local stakeholders
  • Ensure full and proper integration of designed pricing functionalities with other Commercial AOL streams
  • Overlook process, data and integration teams to ensure desired quality
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for other Pricing streams: Portfolio Pricing, Commercial Terms and Price Execution and Administration (on a need be base)
  • Efficiently drive work of virtual teams, working in multiple countries and focusing on different priorities, to reach single end-to-end solution

Implementation support: Drive deployment of respective Pricing scope on selected Pricing platform (Vendavo or other) in selected Syngenta countries by working with global and local Syngenta resources and leading external consultants:

  • Support overall implementation roadmap for respective piece of pricing solution and planning for each country considered for deployment
  • Drive industrialization of implementation of Pricing platform
  • Lead/ coordinate/ support country implementations of the system (as applicable based on approach taken in a given region/ country)
  • Deliver training to local resources on the new platform launched
  • Support change management efforts to ensure successful platform deployment and usage by local teams

Stakeholder management: Drive stakeholder discussions and get commitment from the business and supporting functions for the pricing transformation program




Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in pricing (e.g. marketing, sales, IS or Finance aspects)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Consultant with a top-tier consulting firm, preferably specializing in the area of pricing, sales and marketing or 2 or more years of experience as Pricing Manager/Analyst in a corporate setting
  • Designed and managed pricing tools & applications
  • Project Management skills
  • Knowledge of Vendavo platform and Syngenta systems and processes
  • Knowledge of the business / industry is crucial (ramp up period possible)
  • In-country experience in marketing and/or selling in a B2B industry, with distributor interfaces
  • Experience in large business transformation programs
  • Experience in the agricultural industry a plus, but not required

Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data assessment & Excel
  • Good leadership skills (also in leading virtual teams from different cultures and environments) and Stakeholders management skills
  • Strong communication skills including fluency in English
