Director Media Europe

The Director Media Europewill lead a team of >20 including direct and indirect reports. Engaging extensively with a series of stakeholders at Director level across the business as well as external media agencies you will develop thought leadership, implement best practiceand derive maximum efficiencyfrom the investment in working media.
Develop Thought Leadership and Strategy
•Keep abreast of key developments in marketing and media best practice, technology and media consumption.
•Set the long term vision and agenda for media in Europe.
Annual Planning and Budget Setting
•Drive best practice in annual media briefings, adherence to media guidelines, plan sufficiency estimates and cost forecasts.
•Engage with Procurement and Finance to ensure that cost forecasts are accurately represented in business P&L and productivity reporting.
•Monitor delivery of media agency value commitments.
•Develop effective media strategies in Mondelēz Europe Regional Category business aim and objectives.
•Provide advice and best practice on brand and creative strategies in emerging platforms and technologies
•Oversee and be ultimately responsible for all media buying, direct or indirect for Mondelēz Europe.
•Seek opportunities to leverage the scale of investment in media for Mondelēz Europe.
Manage Media Agency
•Oversee selection, review and appointment of media agency in Europe.
•Review and approve all year end media agency evaluations and bonus payments in Europe.
•Review and action insights arising from variety of research and evaluation studies including Brand Health Tracking and Marketing Mix Modelling.
•Where required commission bespoke research of media effectiveness and consumption.
Data and Technology
•Keep abreast of key developments in advertising technology e.g. Ad Server, Demand Side Platforms, Data Management Platforms.
•Oversee selection, review and appointment of advertising providers.
•Utilise relevant data arising from advertising technology to inform insights and optimise media buying.
Media industry Representation
•Represent Mondelēz Europe in external industry forums and events e.g. WFA Media Forum
•Represent Mondelēz Europe in industry developments e.g. audience measurement
People Leadership and Development
•Define role of Area Media Managers, Media Performance Manager and country Media Managers.
•Provide strong leadership, motivation and team development, including key people management i.e. Managing and Appraising Performance / Advancement Planning / Development plans.
•Ensure adherence to Marketing to Children and EOC protocols.
