Job description and responsibilities

 
Responsible for ensuring that Equatex’s product and services meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Focus is on operational delivery and administrative client processes end to end including high volume transaction processing, controlling and reporting. The range of tasks comprises operational as well as analytical and change activities(*). In daily operations the position ensures automated or manual trade execution as well as cash payments and securities transfers. The major task field encompasses to analyse, design, monitor and continuously improve business workflow processes agreed with client facing businesses and external service providers, to adapt quickly to a changing environment and client or regulatory requirements. As a further task the Senior Operations Specialist and Business Analyst is also supporting execution in the field of business growth and retention initiatives.

 

(*) The dynamic allocation of tasks and responsibilities is matched to the respective requirements considering clear segregation of duties. (Approximate average ratio of 1/4 operational and 3/4 analytical and change activities)

 

Key tasks of this diverse and challenging role include:

 

  • To plan, execute and monitor Equatex’s operational and administrative processes within the Global Operations Team. The operations services and activities include but are not limited to:
    ° Manual Transaction Processing Cash and Securities incl. Funding
    ° Market Operations Services for Equities and FX
    ° Corporate Actions and Income Transactions Processing
    ° Automated Processing carried out with EquatePlus-System
    ° Transaction Controlling incl. Funding
    ° Transaction and Account Reconciliation
    ° Client and Tax Reporting
    ° Transaction Reporting
  • To analyse data to identify areas for improvement
  • To investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
  • To compile, translate and simplify requirements from business users and other stakeholders
  • To elaborate business cases for Global Operations
  • To review test cases and process change request
  • To support acceptance, installation and deployment of system and business solutions
  • To actively participate in projects as Subject Matter Experts / Ops representative
  • To develop constructive and co-operative working relationship with stakeholders
  • To draft, develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures
  • To support internal audits and other quality assurance activities
  • To develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
  • To prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities

 

Education, qualifications & experience:

 

  • Commercial apprenticeship diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 2 to 3 years working experience in Banking Operations / Mid-office or similar function
  • Commitment to continuous organisational improvement and the ability to act as a change agent
  • Profound knowledge of EquatePlus system and Equatex processes end to end would be a great asset (although rapid familiarisation with complex specifics will be supported)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL Experience preferred but not required
