In order to reinforce the Installation team in Basel we are currently recruiting for a
Supervisor Sheet Metal & Systems Installations for Completions Business

Our Production Organization is supported by modern shops such as Sheet Metal, Cabinet, Electro, Upholstery, Finishing, Composite and Ceiling Shops which produce all needed components, lightweight interior furniture, structural parts such as brackets and decorative elements, harness wire looms with connection plugs, upholstered seats, divans and decors panels, decorative inlays that help us create lightweight furniture that is as functional as it is beautiful. Our staff has been highly trained in the fine art and has the advanced skills to do their work. It is important to us that the details of the work are exactly the way our customers want them, in accordance with Engineering data and regulations. In order to achieve that high level of customization and quality as a Supervisor Production you will be in charge to lead a Production Technician staff of your field.  You will work with your team and start your manufacturing or assembly processes of components, parts, sub-assemblies, and furniture from the 3D model to the final exquisite VIP Interior Cabin.

    • Supervises his/her dedicated team to achieve given objectives and goals within budget set by his/her Manager

    • Prepares resource allocation, long term resource planning and weekly production planning of his/her team in conjunction with Project Schedule and given budget

    • Distributes work tasks to his/her technicians in accordance with their qualification and grade

    • Supervises production tasks within the completion projects, ensuring quality, cost and schedule goals are met

    • Liaises with the internal customers and providers (Engineering, Production Shops, Final Assembly Line, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Method Office and Support Departments…) on problems / modifications

    • Ensures the correct use of tools and equipment

    • Ensures and controls quality, conformity, reliability and traceability in a continuous improvement environment

    • Develops and/or improves working processes and core competences of his/her team

    • Supports, Industrial Method Office and Engineering for product development & prototyping

    • Provides support to all technicians

    • Supervises, instructs and motivates personnel in order to achieve efficiency

    • Achieves targets sets by his/her Manager with high level of quality and within budget constraints

    • Supervises major repairs and modifications on released Components, Sub-Assemblies, and Main Assemblies

    • Interpret Design Material Specifications and 3D/2D engineering drawings to ensure finished product is in accordance with requirements and meets Customer quality expectations

    • Implements any corrective action resulting from audits (internal and external)

    • Supervises technicians to maintain a clean and safe work area (5S) and adheres to all safety and environmental regulations and requirements.

    • Approves vacation and compensation requests in reference to the available manpower capacity, budget, staff skills and projects tasks.

    • Plans and performs the employee’s evaluation appraisals together with the Manager in accordance to company policies and requirements

    • Performs Employees Assessment Performance interviews

    • Updates production status of all Projects Critical Path Production plans

    • Performs Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to simplify processes and value added work

    • Motivates and guides permanent or temporary assigned staff to reach the goals set by his/her Manager

    • Manages and mediates interpersonal and professional conflicts

    • Participates in recruitment interviews for potential new members of his/her team

    • Encourages job skill development and personal growth within the team

    • Performs other related duties as required or assigned by his/her manager

    • Supervises training of technicians to Jet Aviation procedures, technical instructions and aviation regulations

    • Works with Manager to develop and implement technical process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost and cycle time

    • Supervises Technicians to professional standards, new techniques, traceability processes, use of personal protective equipment in accordance with JA Policy

    • Supervises technicians on the correct use of tools and equipment and controls individual tools

    • Supervises technicians to maintain a clean and safe work area (5S) and adheres to all safety and environmental while adhering to regulations and requirements

    • Demonstrates capability to learn other disciplines and skills

    • Actively contributes, promotes and participates in continuous improvement actions/projects.

    • Supports and promotes Lean Manufacturing

    • Ensures the training and competencies of his /her technicians to Jet Aviation procedures, technical instructions and aviation regulations

    • Develops and implements technical process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost and cycle time

    • Supports the decision making process by providing timely reports as required

    • Estimates labors hours, Material quantity and evaluate work packages

    • Supports Production Conformity Inspections and takes all necessary actions to correct deviations

    • Ensures reports are correctly performed and reported to Engineering in Element tool software

  • Demonstrated Leadership skills. Capability to Lead up to 20 Employees

  • Experience in a similar leading position aspect of the aviation business

  • Knowledge and understanding of aviation documentation

  • Knowledge and understanding of Jet Aviation’s internal documentation and processes

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, as well as with SAP, SmarTeam, Elementool

  • Familiar with aviation authorities (FOCA, EASA, FAA) and with procedures and processes

  • A strong working knowledge and Leading of Production processes and products

  • Knowledge on conforming parts to DOA documents

  • Comprehensive understanding with Part 145, P21J and Part 21G regulations

  • Knowledge in reading & understanding 3D Models & 2D manufacturing drawing and Assemblies

  • Proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated team player

  • Completed apprenticeship with appropriate educational qualifications or equivalent experience

  • Or High School Technical diploma or equivalent

  • Craftsman experience in production aircraft outfitting environment or comparable background, which enables you to leads, monitors and control your team of technicians

  • Experience in leading a team

  • Familiar with Part 21G and Part 145 regulations
