CityOrtuella, Birr, Vasteras, OsloPostal Code48530Relocation AssistanceYesRole Summary/PurposeThe Region Service Business Leader develops the service and retrofit activity in Hydro Europe (includes MENAT, SSA, Balkans, Oceania). He is responsible for the profitable growth of the service business. HEU service activity is made of turbine/generator refurbishment and transactional services. Service and retrofit sales for HEU is around 130MUSD. The focus is growing the activity to 200MUSD + with a focus on Africa, Oceania.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe Region Service Business Leader is fully responsible, within Hydro policies, procedures and interests, for the following activities:

  • Input into the Global Strategy: The Region Service Business Leader provides proactively input into to the global strategy of Global Functions by searching and developing continuous improvement actions in applications, core competencies and the sharing of best practices
  • Market / client leadership : Represents Hydro Service towards Customers, external bodies, as well as internally (Hydro Region and Functions, Energy connection, Wind, other Activities and Functions)
  • Identifies and captures business opportunities with regards to the Hydro installed base Customers and interfaces with Hydro Sales & Commercial Operations for Full Retrofit
  • Strategy execution: Based on the defined global strategies as well as through the Global Functions he/she decides on the deployment of actions for the regional implementation.
  • Business leadership : Leads the execution of the P&L, including management of resources and follows-up of economic performance
  • Project Management Support: he/she supports as a solution provider the project managers, so that his/her team can act and balance needs and requests coming from the projects and ensures successful execution of contracts.
  • Growth : Builds and implements the validated detailed action plan for fuelling profitable growth of Spare Parts, Field Service, Partial Retrofit and O&M
  • Performance Management: He/she monitors, and if requested reports, the necessary key performances indicators (KPI). The Service Leader takes immediately all necessary actions and decisions to guarantee financial as well as time, quality, ethic and EHS performance on the highest level.
  • EHS & Compliance: He/she ensures operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership, safety and compliance
Qualifications/RequirementsEducation / Training

  • BSc. /MSc. In one or more of the relevant field of expertise, such as sales, business development, Project Management or equivalent knowledge or experience


  • MBA or BBA or equivalent knowledge or experience


  • Very strong operational experience in one or more fields of expertise
  • Strong successful leadership experience in a global and multifunctional environment


  • International project execution

  • P&L leadership

Technical/Professional specific knowledge and skills

  • Excellent know-how in the field of sales, project management, business development
  • Good know-how in the field of Hydro Products or excellent Know-how in industrial products
  • Excellent understanding and ability of integrating processes on high levels as well as on the operational level


  • Understanding and experience in acting effectively in a complex matrix organization
