What's the role?

At Corporate Development, your role will be to lead a work stream of one of Hilti’s key strategic projects. This includes developing, detailing and/or supporting implementation of a strategy topic, working alongside a Senior Project Manager with substantial experience from top consulting firms and having visibility to Hilti’s senior management team.

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you’ll be part of a small high-profile strategic team that deals directly with the company strategy. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop a selected work stream of one of our strategic projects.

Your key responsibilities will be i) Interviewing experts and stakeholders to identify issues and form hypotheses on solutions; ii) Carrying out research, data collection and analyses to test hypotheses; iii) Evaluating strategic options and recommending the way forward; iv) Presenting findings and recommendations to senior management; v) Liaising with key stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and to make relevant decisions; vi) Identifying strategy key success factors and developing a roadmap for implementation. You will report directly to a Senior Project Manager from Corporate Development, and will have significant exposure to the Senior Vice President that leads the area

Examples of strategic projects that we work on are M&A opportunities, regional strategies, business unit strategies, impact of industry trends (eg.: digitalization).

What you need is:
  • To be an MBA candidate from a top business school, with fluency in English and good procficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a sense for pragmatic solutions
  • Confidence to push own ideas and back it up with facts/analyses
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or within a team to get things done
