What's the role?

We are looking for highly motivated students that want to take their first steps on the way to becoming solution architects. You will learn in a real software development project (1) how to architect and implement a microservices-based Hilti Cloud, (2) how agile methodologies such as SCRUM will help you to structure your project, and (3) that following the DevOps approach will mean full-stack responsibility, i.e., you will run through the complete Plan-Build-Run cycle.

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you’ll be part of the Corporate Center of Excellence for Application Software. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop the Hilti Cloud.

Your key responsibilities will be the delivery of Hilti Cloud microservices from requirements engineering to the integration of the service into customer-facing applications. As part of this process, you will define the overall service architecture, select the right technologies, implement and test the solution.

We lay the foundation to Hilti’s customer-facing software applications by building a microservices-based cloud platform, which allows for providing best-in-class end-user experience and seamless integration with global SAP and product data.

What you need is:
  • Close to finish your Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with excellent academic results
  • Interest in building leading-edge microservices and cloud-based applications
  • Sound foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, Scala, and/or .Net
  • Ideally, first touch points with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • First experiences with software architectures and design patterns such as event sourcing, and actors is a plus
  • Creativity, willingness to embrace new ideas and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and self-responsibility
  • Very good English proficiency (both verbally and in writing)
  • A thirst to learn and challenge yourself
  • High commitment and competitive drive
