Liechtenstein, Schaan
What's the role?

Numerical simulation plays an important role for innovative product development. The chiseling process simulation in concrete is an extremely challenge and interesting topic. Your role in the project is to investigate the simulation capability on the topic and to find solutions to strengthen it.

Who are Hilti?

We provide leading-edge tools, technologies, software and services for the global construction sector. We have a proud heritage, built over 75 years, and a worldwide reputation for pioneering products and first-rate service.

Innovation is our lifeblood, and we create around 30 new products each year. With some 23,000 people in more than 120 countries, we’re a great place for you to showcase your talent as you learn, grow and carve-out your career.

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you’ll be part of the project on chiseling process simulation. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop a simulation tool to be able to simulate the chiseling process in concrete.

Your key responsibilities will be to evaluate a simulation code based on discrete element method and to improve the simulation capability. Additionally some experimental benchamrks, model validation and parameter study will be conducted.

Since more than 20 years Hilti drives product innovation supported by numerical simulation. To do so we develop and qualify simulation methods using almost all known solving techniques. We want your thirst to learn, courage to challenge and desire to improve things, including yourself to help us step further on this way.
What do we offer?

We’ll give you the tools you need to excel in your internship, including one-to-one coaching. You’ll enjoy a rare combination of autonomy and camaraderie, as you’ll manage your own project while being part of a friendly team.

You’ll not just be another pair of hands but a fully integrated team member with lots of self-responsibility. From there, we’ll trust you to do whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results. Go the extra mile and we’ll reward you with strategic development discussions and career opportunities.

We’ll support you even before you start with us through relocation and integration support. With the international interns community at Hilti you’ll never be bored. Further, the snow-draped mountains, crystal-clear lakes and marvelous landscapes in the Happy Valley invite for lots of outdoor activities.

Why should you apply?

We have an excellent mix of people, which we believe makes for a more vibrant, more innovative, more productive team. So, if you have no knowledge of construction, that’s fine with us. We’re more interested in your ability, commitment and drive to succeed.

What you need is:
  • Master`s student in civil/mechanical engineering (or comparable)
  • Some experience with software on numerical simulation
  • Good skills in English both writing and speaking
  • Good knowledge on mechanics (continuum mechanics / engineering mechanics)
  • A thirst to learn and challenge yourself

We take our time to get to know you. As part of your recruitment process, you’ll get to talk to your internship coach as well as your HR Manager who both can answer some of your burning questions.
