What's the role?

You support scientific work in our competence area tribology working with specifically designed tribological test equipment. The work has to be planned and executed together with one of our experts. Tribology is a key competence to ensure the main focus on outlast and outperform for Hilti products. Besides working experimentally on tribological tests you have to evaluate the results using modern metallographic equipment. The finding have to be analyzed statistically. The results have to be documented in scientific and technical reports.

What does the role involve?

As intern you will be part of our tribology team, which is working for the very special field of tribology considering dirty environments.

Our customer is using the Hilti tools on their jobsites and by nature the environmental conditions are not comparable to conventional tribology as it is for gears, drives or sealings for example in automotive applications. Therefore you will work with specific designed test equipment in addition to modern evaluation equipment like high resolution surface scanner. Your responsibility will be planning, executing and evaluation of tribological experiments considering this challenging environment.

  • You're studying material science, mechanical engineering, physics or similar
