Strategic Supply- Commodity Manager for Procurement Indirect Materials

Strategic Supply - Commodity Manager for Procurement Indirect Materials

Liechtenstein, Schaan
What's the role?

You lead a Commodity Group like Marketing or Consulting on a global level. You understand what our current and future needs are and you match them with the development of the Commodity. Together with your stakeholders you define the game plan to find and effectively work with the best suppliers.

Who is Hilti?

We provide leading-edge tools, technologies, software and services for the global construction sector. We have a proud heritage, built over 75 years, and a worldwide reputation for pioneering products and exceptional service. With some 23,000 people in more than 120 countries, which we’re looking to expand, we’re a great place for you to show us your worth, step up to new challenges and grow your career.

What does the role involve?

Your work starts with the strategy of your commodity. It gives you the necessary insights and the fact base. It also aligns the projects and actions that you plan to drive to improve performance and productivity. Large, international Procurement projects are then in your direct responsibility. You drive the preparation and the execution together with global project teams that reside in the regions and the corporate functions. There can be bumpy roads as we procure many “emotional” products and services. So, although we are now well established, you need a broad personal portfolio to earn your seat at the table of the executive decision makers.

Procurement of Indirect Materials in many companies did not receive much management attention. After ten years of intensive work at Hilti we see that our set-up is close to be benchmark. And we can get even better
What do we offer?

Show us what you’re made of and we’ll offer you opportunities to move around the business – to work abroad, experience different job functions and tackle different markets. It’s a great way to find the right match for your ambitions and achieve the exciting career you’re after.

We have a very thorough people review process, unlike any we know of in any other business. We screen everyone in the company in a yearly career performance matching process. It means we can pair talent with opportunities - developing our people in their current roles or challenging them to work in new ways or in new places. It’s how we find the right fit and further our teams personally and professionally.

Additionally, we offer you a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits, these may include day care for your kids or a free in-house gym.

Why should you apply?

From the role you understand that you have to have a broad, flexible profile. Analytical and strategic thinking is just as required as hands-on project management and tough negotiation skills. You need to be knowledgeable and precise, as well as very convincing in your matter. It is not all there yet? We will train you.

What you need is:
  • Master degree preferably in industrial engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an international company or consulting
  • Strategic mind-set with result orientation
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and German

We look forward to receiving your application.
