IKEA Switzerland is looking for a new

member of the Property Department.

To realise IKEA’s short and long term

a competent and open minded person

with a background in facility management / construction. This person has strong

analytical competences, has good IT skills and experience, is able to plan and execute

projects, is cost conscious and has good communication skills.

As Country Facility Management Specialist you will be supporting FM Service Delivery

Areas as well as projects to be implemented in Switzerland.

This supporting function will cover a full time workload (80-100%). Your physical

presence will be required in SO Spreitenbach, but also travelling within Switzerland

will be part of the job.

In this job you have an expert advisory role providing mentoring, coaching and

technical support to site-based facility management co-workers. As well you are

maintaining up-to-date expertise in Facility Management and Construction in order to

enhance IKEA’s subject area knowledge, while advancing operational best-practices

within the business. Facility Management, a part of property, have the task to take

responsibility of our stores and other buildings.


Your tasks will include:

• Support the development and implementation of new Maintenance working

methods and routines following new IKEA Global standards in Safety & Security

and FM

• Support the implementation and use of a computer aided system (CAFM) for

maintenance in CH attending to Global standards

• Support the units in the follow up of energy reduction plans and the energy

reporting to Swiss authorities

• Support the units in defining budget for maintenance as well as for the

procurement of it

• Developing subject area knowledge and expertise including all technical

matters, both personally as well as within the facility management and

property organisation

• Supporting the implementation of best practice standards aimed at lowering

operational costs and improving the efficiency and reliability of assets and FM

service areas

• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base of national and local issues,

techniques and regulatory compliance requirements relating to the FM service


• Sharing practical subject area knowledge with and nurturing ideas from, facility

management co-workers through workplace mentoring, coaching and skills


• Developing, implementing and communicating best practice FM service areas

practices nationally, and contributing to the global FM network

IKEA Switzerland – Property Department


Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

• You have a technical education (preferably electrical, mechanical specialization

or construction business)

• You have broad Facility Management experience (> 5 years) in a Retail

environment or equivalent with proven leadership skills (Multi-site

management is a plus)

• You are able to communicate fluent in German and English both written and

spoken (French would be a plus)

• You have broad mechanical, technical, and practical experience with in all

facility and construction systems (including electrical, lighting, HVAC,

structural, building automation and energy management) linked to the

infrastructure considering all economical aspects

• You have strong decision making skills with the ability to influence and act

• You are very skilled in IT systems

• You have knowledge about the local facility management, services and

maintenance as well as construction market

• You have strong written and verbal communication skills within all levels of

IKEA management and external partners

• You have the ability to coach, develop and mediate within the function to share

knowledge, learn and collaborate with others

• You have the ability to be a self-starter and leader when managing and

completing projects and complex tasks with deadlines and financial constraints

• You have strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational
