Business Development Manager - Advertising

We bring structure to complex problems, quantify issues and help our leadership team to make difficult strategic decisions.

We are currently looking for a manager who will be the owner and driver for our advertising business. This is not a sales role, but a strategic role that will shape how we create advertising opportunities for our partners, how we build our ad products and how we sell them.

Business Development Manager - Advertising

What you will do:

* Identify the most promising opportunities to grow and scale the advertising business within and Execute strategic projects to unlock such growth
* Own a multi-million ad revenue goal. Define go-to-market strategy and priorities for internal and external initiatives that deliver against goals
* Work closely with functional leads to build and launch tailored advertising programs
* Partner with the sales team to drive revenue; lead strategic client meetings
* Observe global trends in online advertising and adtech; be the champion for bringing in international best practices to the organisation
* Act as a strong advocate of our advertisers, work to drive customer satisfaction in close collaboration with Product Management, IT and Sales
* Define and own metrics that measure business performance on advertising
* Develop and defend business cases with financials and performance KPIs

What we look for:

* Proven track record in driving business initiatives to sustainable success
* 5+ years experience in business development or sales roles in advertising with the ability to manage cross-functional teams in dynamic market environments
* Excellent project management skills, ability to work well across a matrix organisation and to deal with ambiguity
* Deep knowledge of adtech tools and key industry trends for publishers
* Strong analytical skills, ability to drive business insights from data
* Metric-driven mind-set and attention to detail in complex environments
* Experience working in an online or tech company and deep understanding of its success factors
* Strong dedication to deliver results and drive change with a positive can-do attitude
* Entrepreneurial spirit and strong interpersonal skills
* Fluency in German and English
* University degree highly desirable. MBA degree is a plus
* Understanding of eCommerce and/or marketplaces a plus
