Junior Financial Analyst External Manufacturing (EEM) 80% Function overview:
The EEM Financial Analyst works closely with the EEM Associate Finance Consultant, focusing on the financial aspects of the Basel based EEM Operations, which together with the Speke Operations form the EEM EMEA Hub. The EEM EMEA Hub is one of the biggest hubs within the clients External Manufacturing Network, both in terms of the number of contract manufacturers and the sales number it supports.
The areas supported will center on reporting & compliance, forecasting & planning, financial analysis support for decision making as well as broader support to Supply Chain and the Manufacturing Finance Organization.
Reporting & compliance responsibilities include monthly and quarterly financial reporting, involvement in performing monthly financial controls on all relevant income statement and balance sheet accounts as well as preparing SOX controls. The Financial Analyst will also support the quarterly forecasting process. She/he will also contribute to further improving financial reporting & forecasting processes & capabilities in close cooperation with the EEM Associate Finance Consultant.
During the annual Business Plan, the EEM Financial Analyst supports the Associate Finance Consultant in conducting reviews with budget owners, procurement and supply chain, modelling budget assumptions and preparing the EEM EMEA Hub business plan review with senior management. He/she will also get involved in the product costing process and the plan submission into SAP. Furthermore, the EEM Finance Financial Analyst will contribute to other planning exercises such as the annual Strategic Plan.
The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Global EEM Finance Lead, and she/he works in close partnership with the Associate Finance Consultant.
 
Essential job functions: 

  • Deliver TAI (Timely/Accurate/Impactful) financial reports and enhance EEM reporting capabilities (drive for effectiveness, efficiency and impact);
  • Support financial planning and forecasting process (Business Plan & Forecasts) for EEM to ensure a timely, high quality submission;
  • Contribute to performing monthly financial controls and ensuring SOX compliance
  • Support the Associate Finance Consultant in the area of product costing & transfer pricing
  • Provide ad-hoc business support on business cases and projects.
Main requirements:
  • Minimum Master degree level education in Finance, Controlling and/or Accounting
  • Work experience in Finance/Controlling, Manufacturing Finance desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills are a must, passion & ability to draw information from data
  • Personal accountability and strong drive for delivering outcomes
  • Very good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Very good MS Excel skills, ideally experience with SAP or another ERP system
  • Good accounting knowledge (ideally incl. US GAAP)
  • Excellent English, ideally proficient in one or more other European languages
  • Cultural mobility – ability to work with different cultures
  • Office based (Basel - CH) – no/limited travel
