Associate Director, Clinical Research Manager

 

For our client an international pharmaceutical company in Central Switzerland we are looking for an
 
Associate Director, Clinical Research Manager
 
 
Main tasks:
  • Accountability for the performance for assigned protocols in a country in compliance with ICH/GCP and all relevant policies and regulations
  • Coordinate and align Clinical Research Switzerland, the regional and broader organization
  • Pro-actively drive/track execution and performance of deliverables/timelines/results to meet country commitments, requiring strong collaboration with local Country Operations roles as well as other departments within MSD like Medical, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance
  • Forecast country resource needs and serve local business needs and ensure quality and compliance for assigned protocols in the country
  • Lead and guide Clinical Research Associates (CRA) through study protocols and ensure study compliance
  • Responsibility for collaboration and relationship management with investigators for insourced and outsourced studies, with functional outsourcing vendors and other external partners
  • Responsibility for clinical trial education to sites, and acts as the country POC for programmatically outsourced trials for assigned protocols. In collaboration with CRD, represents MSD Switzerland in Pharma industry issues and in seeking influence in external R&D environment.
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree (MSc or comparable) in a relevant Life Science discipline; advanced degree (MD, PhD or comparable) is beneficial
  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant role in Clinical Research, such as Clinical Research Associates (CRA), Clinical Project Manager etc.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills (scientific and business) and proven ability to coordinate and lead local teams to high performance
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, conflicts and opportunities early and lead, analyze and prepare mitigation plans and drive conflict resolution; gain trust quickly from other parties in negotiations and have an excellent sense of timing
  • Team player with proven ability to motivate a young team and who likes to work cross border
  • Excellent oral and written German and English language skills; additional local language skills are advantageous
