Materials & Process Engineer / Composite Lead

Our client is a young and innovative Aerospace Company. At various locations in Switzerland state-of-the-art aircraft are developed and produced.
In order to support the Material & Processes Team we are looking for

Materials & Process Engineer / Composite Lead

Your tasks

  • Technical lead for composite topics and guidance of composite engineers, test engineers, master thesis & interns.
  • Identify all composite topics in close cooperation with Design, Stress & Fatigue, Production, Purchasing and Quality.
  • Development and management of material, process and handling specifications.
  • Setup, coordinate and oversee the material qualification tests according to CMH17, CS27 and corresponding ASTM Standards.
  • Monitor and report all ongoing composite activities and budget status to the M&P Team Leader.
  • Present achieved project results within PDR, CDR and project Meetings.
  • Determination of suitable non-destructive test (NDT) methods.
  • Support the QM for special process audits of Design- and Production-Organization suppliers.
  • Usage and servicing of GRANTA-MI Database to provide certification data.

Your profile

  • Degree of Studies in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science with specialization in Composites.
  • 3 or more years relevant experience, preferably in Aerospace sector.
  • Strong background in processing of composite materials (Prepreg-Technology, sandwich constructions, vacuum infusion, etc.), particularly within a production environment.
  • Furthermore you should have knowledge in joining technology used within the aviation industry (Bolting, Riveting, Bonding, etc.).
  • Experience in Bonding Technologies or a European Adhesive Engineer would be an advantage.
  • Experience of interactions with material suppliers and part manufacturers is advantageous.
  • Good Knowledge of NDT for composite parts.
  • Experience with GRANTA-MI would be an Advantage.
  • Good English language skills, both verbal and in writing, a working knowledge of German language will be an Advantage.
