Over the last 5 years, the 600-staff NRC has published around 1000 scientific publications in peer review journals and files about 80 patents every year. The NRC also has around 100 research collaborations with universities or research institutes around the world.
The NRC is organized with three large research institutes for Nutritional Science, Materials Science and Food Safety & Analytical Science. These major Institutes are complemented by Research Units focusing on Clinical Development, PetCare. Lausanne is home to the 2 strongholds of Nestlé’s fundamental research: the Nestlé Research Center (NRC) and the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) that investigate the complex interactions between nutrition, health and wellness.
To complete our Consumer Science & Applied Nutrition Department, we are currently looking for a Behavioral Science Specialist.
In this position, you will propose and develop scientific activities on behavioral change to design behavioral interventions allowing consumers to adopt healthier diets based on Nestlé products portfolio and nutritional recommendations.
Design and carry out eating behavior change interventions. Assess the impact and propose solutions that will be deployed by businesses to support sustainable eating behavior change in people
Review the literature on behavioral interventions and especially on efficient strategies for food related behavior change and identify research gaps
Propose new projects/behavior change interventions which outcomes will support Nestlé businesses in promoting people’s healthier eating behaviors
Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or visitors
Develop scientific competences in eating behavioral change as well as coach and guide other team members in this field of expertise
Interact with key business stakeholders to identify business needs
Education and experience
PhD in the field of Behavioral Science, Cognitive Behavioral Psychology and/or Behavioral Economics with a focus on eating or health behavior change
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the field of eating or health behavior change and interventions promoting healthier eating behaviors.
Strong expertise of behavioral change theories and approaches applicable to dietary behavior change. Deep knowledge in impact assessment using a variety of approaches (questionnaires and observation measures)
Experience in managing and driving complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Experience in translating research findings into concrete solutions to improve people’s dietary habits
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
