Our Nestle Research Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Milk and Nutrition. In addition it also provides technical assistance to our factories.
As an Associate formulation specialist your main mission will be to develop prototypes to illustrate product concepts and guide the business at an early stage of product development of Shelf Stable Dairy and Beverages in powder and liquid format. You will also provide innovative formulation solutionsfor tastier and healthier products for our consumers.
Carry out formulation work to provide formulation solutions as part of product development projects along targeted product specifications and in line with internal and external regulations
Develop and create kitchen prototypes to illustrate concepts and ideas at an early stage
- Guide sessions to discuss prototypes, concepts and ideas with project teams across R&D, global and local Marketing
- Manage product formulation workshop with / without consumers to guide development towards a winning sensory profile.
Provide technical assistance and expertise to market / businesses in the formulation area.
Manage and structure formulation work for multiple projects in parallel and communicate results in reports and presentations.
Build up competences and tools to evolve the consumer centric formulation work.
- Build and document knowledge about ingredients (e.g. thickeners, fruits, sweeteners, colors) and flavorings solutions to improve organoleptic properties of our products.
- Be knowledgeable on consumer preference patterns for specific flavours, recipes and cooking habits in dairy products and beverages
Manage lab organization, material & ingredients and the work of a lab assistant
Education and experience
Master Degree in flavors & food ingredients, food technology or related discipline
Min 3 yrs experience in formulation of products (flavors and other ingredients), in applications
Experience in managing kitchen prototyping workshops
Industrial experience in product development (R&D environment or factory) is an advantage
Experience in the dairy, culinary and beverage fields is an advantage
Scientific knowledge in food and ingredient technology is an advantage
Cooking experience is an advantage
Fluent in English; German is an advantage
