For our Strategic Innovation Group Consumer Care based in Lausanne, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a:
Packaging Development Senior Manager
In this challenging and dynamic role, you will be part of the Global Product Development team and report to the Global Head of Product Development. Your core mission will be to lead the packaging team in driving profitable growth through development and implementation of innovative and competitive packaging design, technologies, systems and processes that are in line with the global brand strategies and their respective I&R pipeline. You will foster a culture of consumer centric holistic packaging approach and act as a Bridge between Development, Marketing, Manufacturing (internal and external) and agencies / packaging providers to provide Holistic design solutions addressing our consumers’ needs.

Further duties & responsibilities include:
  • Deliver the packaging roadmap and modus operandi for the Strategic Innovation Group Consumer;
  • Lead and inspire a multi-functional team to develop the packaging strategy, to integrate said strategy into the Science & Technology roadmaps aligned to deliver the I&R pipeline of the business, to develop Technical Building Blocks to ensure gaps in technology are closed, to explore novel technologies, to ensure packaging proposals can be manufactured hitting defined KPIS (including MC%) and to launch innovative concepts in the markets;
  • Support and/or Perform packaging tests studies, prepare proof of principle mock-ups and cost models and work on product validation via pilot tooling;
  • Promote a "Delight with product and packaging experience" culture as a key building block of the consumer engagement into the brand: Supports the implementation of the BBNW Delight with Product and Packaging Experience Room via training of innovation teams and other key stakeholders (GBT Markets, M&TO, procurement, etc.), Assists in elevating the quality of packaging Briefs (structural and design), development process and consumer validation;
  • Identify opportunities for synergies across franchises and lead best practices deployment to help support execution in GBT markets;
  • Lead the maintenance of productive and collaborative partnerships with packaging agencies, CMOS, packaging suppliers in order to create engaging, business building brand packaging;
  • Authors documents, provides consultation, review and guidance to support product registration. Authors and updates SOPs when/if needed to improve WOWs and processes;
  • Participates to the Development and updates of consumer portrait, consumer engagement funnel for the brands with a view to activate the BEM through packaging and the brand visual identity;
  • Accountable for the performance of his team (timelines, resources, deliverables;
  • Establish KPIs and Track / monitors the performance (ROI) and health of the packaging assets to improve them further and inform back the global strategy;
  • Closely collaborate with Nestle units and external partners to leverage necessary support and deliver competitive brand and product packaging;
Requested Education & Experience:
  • B.Sc or B.E. in Packaging Designm technology, Engineering or related disciplines (advanced degree preferred);
  • 10+ years’ experience in leading user centric packaging (structural and design) strategies and projects in a FMCG company on global brands;
  • Ideally experience in a packaging agency (structural and design) in account management, strategic planning, and/or project management;
  • Proven track record in leading design agencies through concept development & selection in a FMCG environment;
  • Proven track record of launching innovative packaging in an FMCG/FMCH environment;
  • Proven track record  in leading and managing cross-functional teams, managing external partners relationships, and leading complex packaging projects from ideation to launch within a set I&R process and in  a matrix environment;
  • Solid experience in direct report management (minimum 5 years);
  • Thought leader in turning consumer insights, user experiences and market trend, cutting edge packaging technologies into packaging strategies and initiatives to feed brand growth and equity;
  • Consistently demonstrated success in a number of challenging and diverse business situations;
