Over the last 5 years, the 600-staff NRC has published around 1000 scientific publications in peer review journals and files about 80 patents every year. The NRC also has around 100 research collaborations with universities or research institutes around the world.The NRC is organized with three large research institutes for Nutritional Science, Materials Science and Food Safety & Analytical Science. Research Units focusing on Clinical Development, and PetCare, complement these major Institutes. Lausanne is home to the two strongholds of Nestlé’s fundamental research: the Nestlé Research Center (NRC) and the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) that investigate the complex interactions between nutrition, health and wellness.
Demonstrating strong result focus and excellent communication skills , you will be responsible to define the Data Management group strategy and identify potential innovation to support the group and the whole Clinical Operations and Clinical Development Unit efficiency. You will also coach, develop and supervise a team of 5-6 clinical data managers.
Key responsibilities
  • Define the strategy of the Data Management group by identifying innovations (IT, standardization, organizational) that could lead to the efficiency and increase the quality of the whole department
  • Supervise, coach and develop clinical data managers in the team
  • Coordinate complex data management tasks with high level of autonomy and ensures the activities performed throughout a trial are compliant with current guidelines and process.
  • Provide critical reviews and inputs linked to the data management aspects for development of Clinical Evidence Plan and Protocol Outline at the early stage of development. Assess the high level risks and provide mitigation proposals to address them
  • Optimize the clinical data flow from its definition in the protocol to its delivery to biostatisticians for complex projects
  • Oversee external vendors/partners including support of contract management, set-up and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators, Quality Performance Indicators
  • Lead and organize regular data review meetings for complex projects, providing insight on the level of trial data quality, the quality of the investigational sites and proposes actions for the next on-site monitoring visits to mitigate risks or reduce the number of protocol deviations.
Education and experience
  • MSc. degree in life sciences
  • Min 10-12 years’ experience in Clinical Data Management in industry, CRO or academia and knowledge of GCP-guidelines
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising and leading people
  • Broad knowledge about clinical trial design
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of data management tools such as ClintrialTM, RaveTM(Medidata), SAS
  • Programming SQL, PL-SQL, SAS, C#.
  • Fluency in English, French is a plus.
