For the Thermal Processes Group we are looking for a

PhD Student

Optimising catalytic fluidised bed methanation reactors

Your tasks

You will carry out experiments to determine the influence of reaction kinetics on the performance of a catalytic fluidised bed methanation reactor, both in laboratory and in a pilot scale reactor. The gained insight will be used to improve the reactor model that is applied for thermo-economic analysis of process chains involving a methanation step such as Power-to-Gas or production of Synthetic Natural Gas from wood.

Your profile

You hold a master degree in chemical engineering or process engineering (also environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or technical chemistry)and want to put research into practice. You have active interest in experimental and modelling work and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team. A good command of written and oral English and German (or the willingness to learn German) is required.
