ENAC – ECOL, Engineer

To support ECOL’s research on lake hydrodynamics, we are seeking a graduate microtechnique, embedded systems, electronic (or similar) engineer.

ECOL uses a variety of limnological equipment, including several different platforms developed within the group.

 

The role involves:

  • Developing new measuring systems
  • Maintaining and updating existing hardware and associated software
  • Fieldwork
  • Interacting with ECOL team members

 

Examples of current activities, based on in-house equipment and systems, include:

  • Floating catamaran platform supporting different instrumentation, operating autonomously under remote supervision
  • Research balloon deployment plus instrument package for lake surface imaging (visual and thermal),
  • Self-contained autonomous lakebed imaging system for fixed deployments
  • Fixed-wing drone capable of deployment from a boat and landing on water, with visual and thermal imaging systems and autonomous navigation

 

Your profile :

  • Degree in microtechnique, electronic (or similar) engineering
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and French
  • Practical hands-on experience in a laboratory or workshop is advantageous
  • Experience with SolidWorks (or similar), PCBs, and 3D printing
