Lead Novartis internal Pricing and Value Policy team and cross-divisional practice group. Drive Novartis’ efforts to shape external healthcare policy to mitigate immediate business risk and maximize long term value.
Drive strategic thought leadership on pricing and value of medicines
Anticipate political risks and develop proactive solutions that meet/exceed Novartis business needs and stakeholder expectations
Develop industry-leading policy content and narratives and prepare Novartis associates from all levels (top management to country level) to engage with impact in policy discussions
Engage top management on key pricing and value issues in a timely manner, and bring strategic policy proposals decision-ready to Executive decision making bodies Ensure impactful external representation at above-country level
Provide high quality and timely input to above-country policy setting bodies, such as OECD, WHO, G7 or G20
Maintain excellent relations with external stakeholders that have a pricing / Health Technology Assessment (HTA) relevant knowledge and/or influencing capacity.
Engage external groups to conduct policy work (e.g. research) in areas of Novartis interest Lead Pricing and Value Policy practice group and effectively collaborate across the organization and with Industry peers
Lead the Pricing & Value policy team and the cross-divisional practice group to develop and implement the global Novartis policy strategy on pricing and value
Work in close collaboration with other Public Affairs policy groups, regions, countries and business franchises to win on key issues
Selectively and strategically engage in Industry Associations (e.g. IFPMA, Efpia, PhRMA) Minimum requirements Masters/PhD, e.g. in law, public health, health policy or business administration.
Ideally completed studies in multiple areas of relevance MBA or PhD desirable
Fluency (verbal/writing) in English a must; fluency in two to three other major languages is an asset (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Mandarin).
• Min. 10 years in the Pharma industry
• Min. 7 years of operational and/or strategic roles in Pricing, Market Access, HEOR or related positions
• Min. 3 years in policy relates roles, ideally in both Industry - and an external policy setting body such as OECD, WHO, World Bank desirable
• Exceptional interpersonal and partnering skills. Proven ability to lead with high impact in a matrix organization. People leadership experience
