Job ID 215874BR Position Title BF Head I&D, Cardio-Metabolic CEE Division PHARMA Business Unit Region Europe GenMed Country Switzerland Work Location Basel Company/Legal Entity Novartis Pharma AG Functional Area Commercial & General Management Job Type Full Time Employment Type Regular Job Description Head Immunology & Dermatology, Cardio-Metabolic Central Eastern Europe is responsible for the development, adaptation, and implementation of Cluster marketing, sales and portfolio strategy for the Immunology & Dermatology, Cardio-Metabolic franchise, key disease area(s) and/or a range of products. Accountable for optimization of profitability, sales, market share and revenue growth in the short and long term through cross functional leadership and people development within the franchise. S/he drives key initiatives across the franchise aiming at growing the overall business through launch excellence, pipeline commercialization, Key Opinion Leaders management and innovative customer centric solutions. Furthermore this person supports the CPOs within the Cluster to optimize their franchise portfolio and execution through best practice sharing, Franchise meetings and yearly strategic plan for the franchise. This senior person has demonstrated excellent leadership and marketing skills and is recognized as an experienced coach /counselor to his or hers franchise counterparts in the CPOs.
• Develops a Central Eastern Europe Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic portfolio strategy
• Developing business vision and strategy for the Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic franchise in Central Eastern Europe
• Ensures that Central Eastern Europe strategy for the franchise is implemented for prioritized brands/ launches
• Monthly interacts with the Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic Heads Region Europe and CPO Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic Heads and leads the roll-out of key Global/Region Europe Marketing & Sales initiatives in Central Eastern Europe
• Supports the development and management of strong and high quality relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
• Closely aligns franchise sales and penetration targets within Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic portfolios
• Supports and funds selected CPO activities to achieve sales and market share growth targets for the Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic brands Productivity
• Guides effective use of resources according to commercial priorities in the CPO/Cluster through Business Franchise meetings / reviews
• Provides support to CPOs in forecasting and optimizing resource allocation
• Contributes to optimal share and use of resources across countries and brands via active participation in budget process, resource allocation and strategy planning
• Provides support to CPO franchise to improve Marketing & Sales productivity
• Shares best practices about Marketing & Sales initiatives across Central Eastern Europe
• Advocates the concept of customer facing effectiveness and new commercial models to improve sales impact Innovation
• Provides input on pre-launch and launch activities to reduce time to peak sales and break even compared to competitors within the franchise
• Drives innovative approaches to the integration of clinical, regulatory and commercial inputs across all stakeholders.
• Informs CPOs Franchise about regional/global Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic initiatives and new application fields, treatment options, outcomes results for Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic products
• Coordinates pre-launch activities for A/B-rated Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic products
• Introduces New Commercial Models for CPOs in Central Eastern Europe People
• Provides effective leadership and interaction within the franchise on a Central Eastern Europe level
• Communicates the strategic business priorities of the Immunology & Dermatology and Cardio-Metabolic franchise
• Provides inspirational leadership, motivation and communication to the franchise
• Provides input on talent development & recruitment in the franchise
Minimum requirements • University degree in bioscience, medicine, business, and/or economics, MBA or PhD preferred
• English
• At least 1 additional European language preferred "
• Extensive (> 8) years of operational experience in managerial positions within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven track record of P&L responsibility
• In depth knowledge of customer/marketplace, key dynamics, and current knowledge of key competitors and their likely strategies
• Well-developed understanding of Region regulatory and market environment including relationship building with Key Opinion Leaders, Key Accounts, regulatory bodies and/or media
• Proven Sales and Marketing Management ability
• Experience with productivity increase projects in the pharmaceutical business desirable "
