We are looking for a Software/Quant Engineer with several years of work experience in these areas within financial services firms or providers for our new build Maintenance and Service Team. Your interests include Application Support and DevOps and/or Quant/Finance. The position requires both technology and good numeric skills, to ensure quality in both the technology and the methodology.
Key tasks are ensuring the software and services we deliver to our clients are properly quality assured (including proper numerical validation), packaged, documented and supportable from the ground up. Secondly, providing support to our clients, including explanation of methodology and quantitative validation of issues, automated checks and data gathering, backed up by the development teams.
The team will also act as subject matter experts in the areas of supportable architectures, quality automation, packaging, and client support, helping to ensure all of swissQuant provide a high level of customer service.
swissQuant intends to transition all existing applications to this enhanced support model, and build all new applications with supportability in mind from the start. The team will therefore have a wide scope and involvement with all other swissQuant teams and most of our clients, and is expected to grow.
As an experienced Quant/Support Engineer, you are able to understand quantitative software applications from both a user and technology viewpoint, logically diagnose issues, and work with users and developers to resolve them.
Quality and scalability are key goals – you automate and standardize where you can; you understand the criticality of data for quant applications, and how to validate it; you like implementing new technology in a robust and reliable way; you are direct in communicating issues or concerns.
University degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, or very strong industry experience
Strong IT background, hands-on experience of development, delivery and support
Numeric background, comfortable with complex calculations or familiar with quant concepts, with strong analytical and communication skills
Technologies: Java, Python, Matlab, SQL, Git-Maven-Nexus-Jenkins, web services & sites, Linux
Ability to work in a small, newly created team and do what is necessary to complete tasks
Fluent in English, good German
Eligable to live and work in Switzerland
