Senior Manager, CGB Controlling Planning

An attractive work place at your Consumer Goods Business (CGB) and Finance and Administration (F&A) Headquarters with about 500 employees.

As a Senior Manager, you will ensure consistency and accuracy in yearly and quarterly financial planning and guarantee the link to the overall strategy and targets. You will also be accountable for the definition, orchestration and collection of all planning-related content and analyses needed for the monthly CGB finance updates. In this position, you will report directly to the Director of CGB Controlling Planning, Performance Reporting & Analysis.


Your main duties will include the following:

- Identifying key revenue and cost drivers of CGB and defining financial metrics/performance indicators to measure/monitor performance accordingly

- Defining value driver system (tree) for CGB

- Collating all requirements in regards to financial planning and controlling processes towards respective operational units

- Accompanying the Director, senior management as well as Divisional Business Controllers along the Controlling - - Process (Plan-Report-Analyze-Decision Support) by ensuring CGB financial planning is based on consistent and clear target setting, processes and ways of working

- Responsibility for controlling of the What Matters Most (WMM) targets and ensuring that all CGB Controlling planning incorporates all perspectives of a balanced scorecard (financial perspective, customer perspective, internal process perspective and learning/growth perspective)

- Defining budget and rolling forecast reporting package requirements as well as operating CGB-wide target setting, budgeting and forecasting process. Working with Corporate Controlling to define end-to-end process and deadlines. Identifying key commercial themes as ad-hoc deep dives for the up-coming forecast, to avoid emerging risks and leverage opportunities

- Defining requirements towards Corporate Controlling and Global Business Services (GBS) Data Office, to ensure the required dimensions, data, quality, systems efficiencies, governance, and process definitions form the basis for relevant and effective planning in CGB and enable CGB Management Board (MB) to monitor business development based on KPIs

- Running projects to define/review MTP and yearly budget process – in co-operation with Corporate Controlling, CGB Divisional Business Controlling and other relevant teams

- Defining the CGB steering model in collaboration with Corporate Controlling. Ensuring enough depth and breadth of forecast dimensions along CGB value map, leading to performance accountability actuals vs plan for markets

- Responsibility for the strategic financial model, in close co-operation with CGB Strategy team

- Orchestrating budget and forecast submission closing activities across CGB Controlling to ensure relevant focus on the forecast controlling and forecast analysis and commentary done by Divisional Business Controlling and Functional Controlling teams

- Running projects to streamline and avoid redundant financial planning activities within CGB

- Ensuring that CGB strategy is translated into mid-term (MTP) financial plans and commercial plans for the Markets – working in co-operation with CGB Strategy team

- Responsibility for quarterly forecasting: Integrated Planning (Operations, Finance, Retail)

- Responsibility for Quarterly Business Reviews between CGB Management Board and VG Management, and between CGB Controlling and Central Divisions, to review latest financial targets and establish accountability for actual performance against prior forecast, and prioritize & agree corrective actions, as needed

- Based on the latest forecast, defining revenue and OP3 scenarios and related risk management contingencies – responsibility for CGB risk management and risk mitigation measures

- Providing Attention Points and decision support to CGB Management Board and other stakeholders to ensure progress against strategic targets, and assigning accountability for gaps, as needed

- Accountability for the delivery of planning-related content for SVP Controlling Business Partner CGB to deliver CGB MB and other relevant fora (CGB Insights, ad-hoc updates to ExB, etc.)

- Based on input from Divisional Business Controllers and Functional Controllers, evaluating, prioritizing and highlighting critical issues related to actual commercial planning from a CGB perspective

- Evaluating, prioritizing and highlighting future trends/developments, opportunities, and related improvement activities


A motivated, assertive talent, who brings along the following background:

- Master’s degree in areas such as data science, management of information systems, economics, business administration, business accounting, applied economics and finance or a certified public accountant degree

- 3-5 years of business controlling experience in Group Planning, Reporting and Analysis from a Business Finance perspective in a major multinational company from the FMCG, luxury/fashion branded retailing or the IT industry

- At least 2-3 years of CFO financial services advisory & consulting experience in a major consultancy company, with a proven track record in client engagements, financial projects, problem solving and communication

- Comprehensive business acumen, ability to work in a matrix organization, outspoken and challenging nature

- Fluent communications skills in English, both written and oral
