As Front End Engineer you will be working as part of a forward thinking team that adopts a Scrum Agile methodology and best practices in software engineering to achieve our ultimate goal: a clean, cohesive and maintainable codebase. We are a core technology company building and evolving our own scalable and resilient platforms to support our ever growing number of customers. As a member of the lastminute.com group engineering team you’ll be heavily involved in our mission of simplifying our travelers’ life, ensuring quality across all aspects of the platform.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Researching, designing, writing and testing new web applications using Agile software methodologies
Contributing to the planning and analysis of high-level software strategies and solutions through your functional and technical expertise
Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects
Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses
Problem-solving and lateral thinking as part of a team, or individually, to meet the project needs
Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, AJAX and HTTP protocol
Proven experience with HTML5, CSS3 and Responsive Design
Knowledge of some the most common JS libraries/frameworks: jQuery, Backbone, Underscore/Lodash, Angular or React, Handlebars/Mustache, ...
Expertise in designing enterprise applications (Design Patterns, CQRS, Code Decoupling, Domain Driven Design, S.O.L.I.D. principles)
Languages – English Fluent and Italian a good working knowledge would be beneficial
MS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Wide technology knowledge and sense of curiosity to explore new and better ways to solve problems
