Characterization Lab Technician

Heptagon’s research and development teams are located in Zurich, Switzerland; development and manufacturing are in Singapore and Shenzhen, China; and business development and sales offices are located in Santa Clara, CA.

We are in the process of expanding our Time-of-Flight sensors development team located in Zurich (Rüschlikon), Switzerland and looking for qualified candidates for a

Characterization Lab Technician


  • Operate characterization setups for time-of-flight sensors and imaging modules.
  • Construct and extend characterization setups for automated data acquisition.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation of test setups, incoming inspections and device testing.
  • Manage the lab inventory, consumable acquisitions and 5S based lab organization.
  • Perform regular verification and maintenance of all testing setups.
  • Requirements:

    Candidates must have more than 1 year of hands-on experience on testing / characterization in research and development environment

    • Expertise in lab instrumentation.
    • Experience on characterization of optoelectronic devices.
    • Experience in building measurement setups with Thorlabs components or similar.
    • Fluent written and spoken English and German.
    • Innovative, initiative, organized and open-mind attitude.
    • Strong team working attitude.
    • Experience on understanding electrical and mechanical drawings is a plus.
    • Experience in designing electronic PCBs is a plus.
    • Experience on electronics soldering and mechanical work is a plus.
    • Experience on production testing is a plus.
    • Experience with motor control is a plus./li>
