What's the role?

You will support scientific or product related projects in our competence area tribology in close collaboration with our R&D staff. Tribology is a key competence to ensure outlasting and outperforming Hilti products. Your knowledge and contribution is used to create innovative concepts by theories, models, failure mechanisms and calculations describing the friction and wear behavior of tribosystems in power tools. Mostly you will work with specifically designed tribological test equipment to account for our special use cases in the field.

What does the role involve?

You will support our tribology team in developing improved sealing systems for Hilti power tools operating at high speeds and in dirty environments. Your responsibility will be planning, preparation and execution of sealing experiments considering this challenging environment. After testing you evaluate the received data and analyze the specimen regarding wear using state of the art surface analytical equipment. Your findings must be analyzed statistically and documented in form of technical reports. You will have the opportunity to present your results in our project team meetings.

  • Studying Engineering, applied physics, material sciences, polymer science or similar
