Intern or thesis student - Audio and visual indoor localization

Intern or thesis student – Audio and visual indoor localization

Liechtenstein, Schaan
Reference No: 1900
What's the role?

Sometimes it is very difficult to locate a specific tool in a closed space. But, in most cases, it is enough to know in which part of the warehouse to look for. For that purpose, Hilti develops a technology to help a customer with this problem. There are two approaches to be investigated: using light signaling and sound speakers to identify the location of the tools. In this role you will build corresponding prototypes and test them with respect to the needs of the customer.

Your key responsibilities will be designing and building prototypes (microcontroller programming, power management, etc.). Next to that, an important part is to test and verify initial hypothesis (usually at the customers’ location). Based on the feedback from the customer, it is necessary to re-iterate the solution design and to repeat the test.
