What's the role?

In this role, you will be the driving force behind operational excellence management initiatives within our manufacturing plant located in Schaan. You will be responsible for the whole lean organisation of the plant to achieve top performance by continuously striving for improvements. The head of Lean is responsible to develop the operational excellence strategy and follow up on the implementation and training of OE methods and concepts across the whole organization. To outperform competition, you will be identifying and implementing new best in class OE concepts (e.g. industry 4.0, value stream management, IoT). Being part of a global network which consists out of 11 manufacturing plants, you will contribute to our global lean initiatives.

What does the role involve?

Driving the overall operational excellence throughout the whole organization of the plant. Leading the roll-out and implementation of the OE pillar of the plant’s strategy Developing OE initiatives/-projects in cooperation with the line management Following up and ensuring the implementation of set-targets of the OE program Coaching and facilitating Kaizen workshops Selecting and prioritizing value stream projects to drive business impact and sustainability Driving initiatives across the global lean organization by defining best-practices and supporting the implementation Playing an active part of our worldwide lean community (lean summit, lean award)

What you need is:
  • A technical background, preferably with an engineering degree, together with a commercial education
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in operational excellence/lean management within a similar industry
  • A strong international profile, ideally with work experience and /or education in a different country
  • The willingness to move geographically to develop oneself and to transfer capability to others
  • Fluency in English with good German skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% across Hilti entities and external partners (regionally and internationally)
