At HP, strategy and planning plays a critical role in shaping business thinking. The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) strategy and planning team directly supports the region president and executive leadership team by delivering an independent perspective that enables planning and investment decisions. We operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment requiring collaboration and active engagement with senior leaders in the category, sales and country organizations.

We are looking for a Junior Business Planning Analystto support our team in Geneva.

The HP EMEA Junior Business Planning Analyst will be responsible for supporting the delivery of practical applications of strategic frameworks and structured business analyses in a regional sales and go-to-market context. The individual will be responsible for developing innovative analytic models and translation insights into concrete business recommendations for regional strategy and planning. The person will play a consultative role across the business by working closely with strategic planners and subject matter experts, acting as a trusted advisor to peers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Supports data and business analyses to develop business plans.
  • Supports the development of statistical and financial models for forecasting and reporting.
  • Measures business performance and compares actual data to forecasted values.
  • Executes market research projects and gathers intelligence on current industry, technology, and consumer trends.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to support the data collection process.
  • Supports the execution of priority projects with direction.

Education and Experience Required

  •  Advanced university degree (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Typically 1-3 years of experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of research methodology.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.
  • Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, statistical analysis, and financial modelling.
  • Developing business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of project management methodology.
