Associate Scientist (m/f) (Ref: 000019 BF)

In this position you are part of the Device Methods Laboratory (DML) which is responsible for analytical aspects of combination product testing covering projects from clinical development through life-cycle management and commercial products. As a member of an international and multidisciplinary team you are responsible for developing and establishing robust applications to characterize pre-filled syringes and injection devices. In addition, you bring solid expertise in Computer Aided Design (CAD) into the team to create and modify 3D models of device components to support investigations and validation of analytical procedures.

Your main tasks will include

 

  • Get to know existing technologies to determine silicone oil distribution and to characterize functionality of pre-filled syringes and injection devices
  • You contribute to robust applications for these technologies to support investigations and characterization studies
  • You work in small interdisciplinary teams to gain understanding of drug / primary container / device interactions
  • You effectively use your network within industry and universities to screen new technologies in the area of expertise
  • Your output supports products in early development through late stage development and commercial products in a GMP regulated environment
  • Design experimental plans and protocols based on defined deliverables and execute activities to meet overall project timelines
  • Using CAD tools, you create and modify device components in connection with future 3D printing

Your profile

For this position we are looking for an experienced, flexible and team oriented person with the following skills:

 

  • You have a strong interest in specialized technologies for the characterization of material surfaces, silicone layers and interactions of drug products with pre-filled syringes.
  • You are a specialist with dedication to details rather than being a generalist
  • You are a good team player with excellent communication skills
  • You are experienced in preparing and modifying 3D drawings using CAD tools
  • Previous exposure to analytical development and instrumental analytics with significant emphasis on combination products or packaging materials in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other GMP regulated industry

     

  • B.S./M.S. with 1- 2 years' experience in Life Science, Analytical or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Engineering

     

  • Independent, efficient and precise working style
  • Strong problem solving capability
  • Good German and English communication skills
