Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs, DIS

Roche Diagnostics has built a new strategic area charged with creating a modern portfolio of decision support software products that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data from medical devices and IT systems within a hospital and intelligently process and present this data to clinicians, researchers, and caregivers to improve research outcomes and patient care.
As the Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs, you will build the Medical and Scientific Affairs function in DIS and provide strategic direction and functional mentorship in the area of clinical and medical science to DIS. In this role you will need to:
Lead and represent DIS internally and externally to deliver on long-term global product development and commercialization strategies for DIS and Diagnostics. This includes cross-functional collaboration internally, and fostering strong relationships with external thought-leaders. Channels may include medical symposium, congresses and delivering medical communication externally.
Build cross functional / matrixed teams or partnerships with existing teams in two key functional areas: Clinical Science and Medical Affairs.
Ensure effective and compliant design and execution of clinical research and development strategies, programs for DIS product registrations as well as post-registration of medical strategies for data generation and analysis, knowledge exchange, scientific collaborations and for product access.
Leads the function to provide strategic direction for the clinical development and medical affairs strategies and plans for DIS
An experienced leader with demonstrable results in people management
Has good judgement and is a strong decision-maker.
Experience of Key Opinion Leader relationship management

A qualified medical doctor, with significant clinical experience combined with broad and deep experience working in the pharma / diagnostics industry.
Passionate for data and analytics (e.g. medical informatics, bioinformatics) and software products to improve patient care
An experienced, effective leader in a strategic multifunctional global environment
Broad scientific, technical and regulatory understanding of product development, including experience working with regulatory authorities
Experienced track-record of making commercial decisions and aligning the organization behind them
