Data Access and Curation Manager
The MDIS Data Access Curation (DAC) Manager is responsible for managing a group of DAC Technical Specialists who partner with Development / Research analysts and scientists to curate,load, and transform medical data. The global team of DAC Technical Specialists are experts in databases (e.g. Teradata/Hadoop), big data solutions, analytical tools and technologies used to facilitate the use of data by analysts.
Accountable for management and direction of activities of direct reports: setting of functional and individual goals and objectives. Ensures they align with MDIS strategy.
Advises and coaches Technical Specialists on approaches for curation, loading and transformation of medical data
Leads assigned Data Access & Curation projects and contributes to other project activities as needed
Identifies opportunities to improve business processes, and encourages consistent approaches to MDIS accountabilities
Maintains a strong partnership with partners inside and outside of MDIS (incl. peer managers in MDIS and other functions)

M.S. or advanced degree in Data Science related field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science)^
Demonstrated managerial skills & ability to develop staff through coaching and mentoring
Ability to identify and resolve critical issues and to assess the impact of decisions
Broad knowledge of drug development
Analytics experience using statistical software packages (e.g. R , SAS)
