The Director Operations (m/f) will be responsible for all operational activities related to procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, inventory management, demand planning, replenishment as well as logistics. Moreover, the incumbent will lead and motivate a team within this area.

Our client is a renowned Swiss manufacturing company, providing their demanding clients reputable and traditional products worldwide. For our client we are currently recruiting for a Director Operations (m/f).
The selected candidate for the positon as a Director Operations (m/f) will focus on the following tasks:
Lead the operations of the company with regards to procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, inventory management, demand planning, replenishment and logistics
Identify and implement strategies in all the above mentioned areas for cost reduction and operational improvement
Build and drive the company's best in class procurement strategies according to the TCO approach, while maintaining and improving quality
Take ownership over the management of the inventory (stock supervision and optimization as well as just on-time ordering/delivery)
Drive an accurate demand forecast and replenishment, while ensuring a optimizing the inventory level
Implement appropriate replenishment strategies to drive customer service
Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. suppliers) to foster feedback and continuous improvement
Identify and implement process improvements in all aspects of the procurement and supply chain
Establish and report process improvement and initiatives/tactics progress through selected KPIs and process performance indicators
Be hands-on in leading the operations management team, as well as supporting their long-term development
Initiate cross-functional projects in order to drive improvement, while ensuring a high service level
Partner with internal stakeholders in order to align the goal of the operations management team to the overall company
Support the new product introductions from an operations point of view
For this core function within the organization, you provide excellent attributes in leadership, communication and execution skills to lead the corresponding business area.
Academic background with Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Management (additional advanced degrees and certifications in Supply Chain - APICS, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma is a plus)
At least 7 years of experience in relevant supply chain functions preferably in procurement
Good understanding of supply chain management, inventory management, demand planning and/or logistics, preferably in the consumer goods industry
Sound experience and understanding of procurement (complex networks, supplier management, replenishment, etc.) in a seasonal environment (i.e. experience with phase-in / phase-out of products)
Experience in people management by providing a vision and strategy
Hands-on mentality, flexible and analytical mind-set as well as the ability to work independently
Pro-active, fact-based, pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude that allows embracing and initiating change
Ability to work in a structured way within a dynamic environment
Strong negotiations and communication skills
Languages: German (native / business level fluency), English (business level fluency), Mandarin knowledge is a plus
