Chief of Strategy & Policy Officer / CEO (m/f/d)

  • The Chief of strategy and Policy Officer will be a key player in advocating for the network and members interests to other organizations and stakeholders.
  • RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE: Review grants proposals and other funding applications. Develop and maintain a donor portfolio for both monetary and non-monetary resources. Develop and maintain a Reporting of the donor management. Work with Board/EC in any fund-raising events or activities.
  • NETWORK OPERATIONS AND PROGRAMS PLANNING: Analyze and implement an action plan of all the plans and projects, policies and procedures. Review and approve quarterly program report as requested by donors. Develop and maintain a Reporting for initiatives and activities of the network. Optimize effective collaboration, coordination and communication among the members
  • Identifying organizational challenges (legal,finace). Ensure DCVMN is conducting its activities in full compliance with the external regulatory requirements.
  • EXTERNAL RELATIONS: Promoting activities and interests according to the Board/EC mandate. Develop and maintain relationships with all appropriate groups, agencies, organizations, including (but not limited to): GAVI / UNICEF / BMGF / WHO and related agencies (such as PAHO) PATH. Oversee press articles and any media coverage. Managing public relations material.
  • INTERNAL RELATIONS: Work closely with the Operations Director (Secretariat) in a collaborative environment. Hire and supervise administrative and management staff. Write and revise, as necessary, the job descriptions for all future staff within the office. Manage yearly performance evaluations.
  • GOVERNANCE: Manage all Board/EC meetings and committee. Oversee implementation of all Board directives (policies, procedures). Reporting of activities to the board on a regular basis.
  • BUDGET AND FUNDRAISING MANAGEMENT: Ensure the financial health of the organization. Oversee treasurer operations, including audit of financials. Submit monthly and quarterly financial reports to grantors (as required). Review and approve all monthly and quarterly reports and documentation. Work closely with the treasurer for annual budget.
  • MBA or bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration
  • Significant experience in a leadership role with a dynamic, growing organization
  • Work experience, including related experience in the vaccines field
  • Proven leadership experience in a non-profit, public service agency or public advocacy
  • Well experienced in multi-stakeholder management with representatives of external parties
  • Experience in fundraising would be appreciated
  • Proven capability to advocate interests of the organization's members and its work and philosophy to key external parties
  • Strong skills in public relations, corporate governance, general management, budget management, resource development and maintenance, program planning
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced public speaker adept at facilitating discussions
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to convert strategy into actionable plan and work towards execution with the secretariat
  • Ability to draw out a shared vision for the Network with EC's backing
  • High levels of integrity and commitment
  • Comfortable taking calculated risks and advocating for new ideas
  • Team-oriented leader excited about working with a lean, dedicated staff
  • Willing to work with a small and dedicated team towards execution on priorities
  • Willing to travel extensively
